Mark Orcutt to lead transition as search for next President & CEO begins
Walnut Creek, CA – With Kristin Connelly set to depart the East Bay Leadership Council at the end of the year to serve as Contra Costa County’s Clerk-Recorder-Registrar, the search for her successor has begun.
In her eight-year tenure as President & CEO, Connelly transformed the East Bay Leadership Council from the inside out. She leaves a lasting legacy of leadership and a strong team in place to carry the organization forward.
“Building and leading this outstanding team and working with the region’s employers has been a terrific experience over the last eight years. I am proud of what we have built together,” said Connelly.
The EBLC Executive Committee led by Board Chair Leo Scott will lead a thorough search for a successor.
“We are thankful for Kristin’s unwavering leadership and are focused on a smooth transition in the months ahead,” said Scott. The current Vice President of Communications & Operations, Mark Orcutt, will take on the role of Interim President & CEO while the search is conducted.
“Mark Orcutt has been an integral part of the East Bay Leadership Council’s success. His outstanding leadership and experience with the organization will ensure a seamless transition as we identify Kristin’s successor,” said Scott.
Mark joined the East Bay Leadership Council team in 2015 and brings a decade of experience in communications, public policy advocacy, and nonprofit administration.
He is a Northern California native who started his career working on statewide governance reform at California Forward and leading political campaigns across the Bay Area. He graduated summa cum laude from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Political Science.
“I look forward to leading the East Bay Leadership Council through this transition and know our team will continue making progress on the issues that matter to East Bay employers,” said Orcutt.
