Statement on Club Q Attack: Gun Violence is a Public Health Epidemic
The attack at Club Q in Colorado Springs is a horrifying reminder that gun violence has a devastating and particular impact on LGBTQI+ communities across our nation. As threats of violence increase, we must do more to address the public health epidemic of gun violence in all of its forms.
The grief of this moment is profound and the work ahead is challenging. The East Bay Leadership Council stands ready to advocate for policies that will ensure a safe and prosperous region.
It is both heartbreaking and poignant that the first event in the 2023 East Bay Leadership Series will be headlined by none other than the Founder of Moms Demand Action, Shannon Watts. It will be an important opportunity to advance the conversation and learn more about what employers and community leaders can do to create an East Bay free of gun violence.
