Apply for a Housing Project Endorsement

The East Bay Leadership Council believes that addressing the current housing shortage is essential for cultivating economic growth, ensuring environmental protection, and fostering diverse and inclusive communities.

That’s why EBLC launched our Housing Endorsement application, through which the organization will evaluate and endorse proposed housing projects. We believe these efforts will not only help win the hearts and minds of community leaders but win desperately needed victories for housing projects hanging in the balance of local decision-makers.

Engage with a Task Force

The East Bay Leadership Council’s task forces drive the organization’s policy priorities. Each of these member-led groups address pressing issues facing the region’s economy and quality of life.

Right now EBLC hosts a Water, Energy, & Environment Task Force, an Infrastructure Task Force, a Health Task Force, and Ad Hoc meetings to discuss other topics such as education, fiscal policy, and business development.

Participating in task force meetings is a great way to get involved while learning and networking with fellow East Bay leaders.

Apply for Build the Bench

Democratic participation is key to the East Bay continuing to thrive. That’s why in 2017 we launched our very own candidate training program designed to help more people who care about this community receive the tools, know-how, and connections needed to run a campaign.

Together, we are building the bench of people ready to run for and win elected office. We do not endorse candidates but are proud that of our 41 Build the Bench graduates, 14 have been elected or appointed to public office across the region.

Get matched to a nonprofit board

At the East Bay Leadership Council we believe that engaged communities are thriving communities. We also know that nonprofit organizations are essential to addressing the most pressing issues facing the East Bay.

Yet many nonprofits struggle to recruit the board members they need to move their mission and our communities forward.

That’s why we founded Engage East Bay in 2022 alongside the Contra Costa Economic Partnership with the goal of matching local leaders ready to make a difference with nonprofits seeking new board members.
