East Bay Leadership Series

Presented By

Kaiser Permanente

During the beginning of each year the East Bay Leadership Council hosts a 3-part series featuring thought-leaders who discuss broad societal issues and their significance within the East Bay. Topics range from national and global politics, civil rights, and the economy to housing, transportation, health, energy, innovations in tech, and much more! Each event features a thought-provoking keynote presentation and a moderated Q&A.

The 2025 series will kickoff on January 29 with Judy Woodruff, save the date now!

Capitol Series

The Capitol Series brings elected officials from Washington D.C. and Sacramento face to face with East Bay Leadership Council members. We hear from these elected officials about their priorities and save plenty of time for questions focused on the issues that matter to East Bay employers.

The 2024 series featured conversations with Senator Steve Glazer and Assemblymember Tim Grayson, along with a forum featuring the candidates for Contra Costa County Supervisor, Mike Barbanica and Shanelle Scales-Preston.

Since 2021, we have held some of our Capitol Series events virtually. Recordings are available on our YouTube channel.

State of the East Bay

State of the East Bay is an annual event with a tradition of bringing together the President of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors and the Chair of the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors for a discussion on issues spanning the region. It is a good opportunity to learn about what is being done at the county government level.

Advocacy Day

The East Bay Leadership Council works in collaboration with other regional economic development organizations to hold an annual trip to Sacramento. We discuss our top public policy priorities with our East Bay delegation and elected officials in key leadership positions across the state.

But that isn’t the only time we spend in Sacramento. As important legislation comes up for debate you can find us in committee hearings and on capitol steps. We ensure that our voice is heard by elected leaders.
