Philanthropy Awards & Small Business Grants

Now Accepting Nominations | Help us honor local philanthropy

The East Bay Leadership Council and Diablo Magazine are joining forces to recognize community volunteers and philanthropists in the East Bay. This new collaboration will carry on the 12-year legacy of the East Bay Philanthropy Awards and celebrate the region's compassionate heart through stories of great works and great generosity at Threads of Hope in December 2023.

While the nomination window for community volunteers has closed, there is still time to nominate an employer or individual that has been generous with their time, talent, and treasure to advance a local nonprofit's mission and make a difference in the lives of East Bay residents.

Honorees will be featured in the December issue of Diablo Magazine.

Nomination Criteria
This year's honoree will demonstrate one or more of the following values in their philanthropic endeavors.

  • Equity | Actions that work toward inclusive systems and communities where all, regardless of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, ability or other differences can participate, reach their full potential and live with safety and dignity.

  • Resilience | Actions that build the ability of our community to adapt and recover in the face of adversity, tragedy, and trauma.

  • Creativity | Actions that are innovative, outside the box, break old patterns that no longer serve our community and re-imagine what is possible.

  • Compassion | Actions that are rooted in care and empathy for one another, and where giving is a demonstration of this compassion without expectation of anything in return.

  • Risk-taking | Actions that demonstrate the courage to do things differently, to break the status quo in order to advance the common good.

  • Sustained Commitment | Actions that have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to long-term change in the community.

Nomination Deadline
Wednesday, September 13th
