EBLC to Recognize Chadi Chazbek, 2025-26 EBLC Board Chair

EBLC will celebrate the incoming Board Chair, Chadi Chazbek, at the 2025 Installation Awards.

Chadi Chazbek has long understood the power of infrastructure to shape lives—not just through the roads we drive or the transit systems we rely on, but through the partnerships and policies that make those systems possible. As the newly appointed Board Chair of the East Bay Leadership Council, Chadi brings a collaborative, region-first mindset to the role. His approach is grounded in a career in transportation and driven by a commitment to equity and impact.

Chadi first joined the EBLC Executive Committee four years ago because he saw an opportunity to help shape the direction of an organization that brings together diverse stakeholders to drive policy change.

“Serving on the EBLC Executive Committee offers a unique opportunity to engage meaningfully in shaping the direction of the organization. It allows me to contribute to developing future strategies and policy positions that can elevate EBLC’s influence—not just in the East Bay, but across the broader Bay Area and at the state level,” he said. “I’m motivated by the chance to help guide that impact.”

That motivation is deeply rooted in his own professional journey. As a civil engineering student, Chadi chose to focus on transportation because of its potential to transform communities. Over the years, his work has taught him that meaningful progress, especially in infrastructure, only happens when public agencies, private firms, and local communities come together.

“Collaboration is essential to getting projects funded, designed, and delivered,” he said. “That’s why I value EBLC’s work so much. It creates space for those partnerships to happen.”

From his vantage point as the Vice President & Transportation/Tolling Practice Builder at Kimley-Horn, Chadi knows that transportation continues to be one of the region’s most urgent and complex challenges. He highlights budget constraints, policy uncertainty, and inflation as serious hurdles but believes the East Bay is well-positioned to respond.

“The Bay Area has a strong track record of resilience and innovation,” he said. “I believe EBLC can play a key leadership role in fostering collaboration, convening regional stakeholders and advocating for forward-thinking solutions to our infrastructure needs.”

That commitment to regional collaboration is central to why EBLC’s mission resonates so deeply with Chadi. Whether it’s advancing housing policy, workforce development, clean energy or transit access, he sees the through line in all of EBLC’s work: building a region where everyone has the chance to thrive.

As he begins his term as Board Chair, Chadi has two clear goals: first, to strengthen EBLC’s visibility and leadership in key regional and state-level policy conversations; and second, to expand its partnerships particularly with businesses and organizations serving historically underrepresented communities.

“By doing both, I hope we can expand EBLC’s influence and ensure our work continues to create inclusive, meaningful outcomes across the East Bay,” he said.
