Part 1 | Kickoff Event Featuring Judy Woodruff
January 29
For the kickoff to the 2025 East Bay Leadership Series presented by Kaiser Permanente, the East Bay Leadership Council is joined by Judy Woodruff, PBS NewsHour Senior Correspondent.
Judy Woodruff, the iconic journalist who has covered every U.S. election for over 40 years, is kicking off the 2025 Leadership Series just days after the Presidential Inauguration. With the country entering a new political chapter, Woodruff will share exclusive insights from her vast journalistic experience as well as her recent project, "America at a Crossroads," where she examines the differences and shared values shaping our nation's future.
The kickoff to the East Bay Leadership Series will serve as a forum for discussing how national political dynamics intersect with regional issues like job creation, housing, and education. Judy Woodruff will share her reflections on the issues that will define America's future and help guide the path forward for East Bay leaders.
Part 2 | California Attorney General Rob Bonta
March 10
The 2025 East Bay Leadership Series continues with an exclusive conversation featuring California Attorney General Rob Bonta. Sworn in as California’s 34th Attorney General in 2021, Bonta made history as the first person of Filipino descent to hold the position. Before serving as the state’s top law enforcement officer, he represented the East Bay in the California State Assembly and as a member of the Alameda City Council.
As the Attorney General, Bonta is at the center of major issues impacting California’s economy—leading efforts to enforce housing laws, combatting fraud and cybersecurity threats, and balancing environmental regulations with economic growth. With recent public safety reforms in motion and ongoing legal battles between California and the Trump administration, this discussion will provide key insights into what’s ahead for East Bay businesses and communities.
Attorney General Bonta has been a leader in shaping policies that intersect with the business community, from workforce development and job creation to statewide efforts addressing homelessness. This conversation will explore how these priorities are being implemented and what they mean for employers navigating California’s evolving legal and economic landscape. Whether you're focused on regulatory challenges, economic stability, or future policy shifts, this is a must-attend event for those invested in the state’s business climate.
