Transit, Technology, & Task Forces

Transportation Wins | Multiple EBLC transportation priorities awarded state funding

Two transportation projects of regional significance were recently awarded funding from the State Transit & Intercity Rail Capital Program.

These projects include the Hercules Hub, a multi-modal transit development in Hercules that will feature a BART stop, bus routes, new housing, and walking/biking paths, as well as the Valley Link, a rail project set to connect BART and ACE throughout the East Bay and Northern California.

Both the Hercules Hub and Valley Link are critical to delivering a transportation system that increases mobility community members and regional commuter alike. We are proud of EBLC's involvement in supporting these projects and are excited to continue promoting important investments in the East Bay's transportation system.

Must Watch | Fusion Reaction Celebrated at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Thousands of employees at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory on Monday celebrated an accomplishment that's being called a game changer in energy and climate change – trying to replicate how the sun produces energy.

The fusion reaction took place in an area the size of a peppercorn and was performed in a billionth of a second, but it's a discovery that can change the future.

"If you can replicate the process that’s on the sun here to provide abundant renewable energy, that’s really what fusion is," U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said.
